Remember the "luminiferous aether"? That mysterious medium once thought to permeate the Universe, carrying light waves? While mainstream science seemingly dismissed it after Michelson-Morley (1887), the story didn't end there. Michelson-Morley Redux: In 1986, 100 years later, E.W. Silvertooth  repeated the iconic Michaelson-Morley experiment of 1887.[1] Silvertooth’s experiment was sponsored by the United States Air Force, using vastly superior laser interferometry and vacuum technology. His results, published in a reputable scientific journal, detected a persistent, measurable signal inconsistent with a null result, that the field exists, as he detected a signature of an aetheric wind.[2] Thus, the Michelson-Morley experiment was a good experiment, but it was poorly interpreted—due to their equipment not being very sophisticated and their failure to take into account the relationship between wavelength and propagation velocity, according to Silvertooth. Moreover, Silvertooth measured the aether velocity directly on more than one occasion, through multiple recorded experiments (1987, 1989, 1992).[3]



Tesla's Gaseous Sea: The visionary Nikola Tesla (late 19th/early 20th Century) wasn't just dabbling; he built intricate experiments around the aether. He famously described it as a "gaseous constitution" of incredible elasticity and permeability, being a “universal gas”, the fundamental medium for transmitting force and energy. He disputed the existence of Hertzian waves and instead proposed that space was filled with such a gaseous medium that was capable of transmitting longitudinal waves, much like sound through air.
